1/2 Cup Cold water
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp Sugar
1tsp Ginger Garlic paste
1/2 tsp Black Pepper
1/2 tsp Salt
For Batter:
1/2 cup All Purpose Flour
1/4 cup Cornstarch
2tsp Oil
1/8tsp. Baking Powder
For Thickner:
1/4 cup water
1tsp.Cornstarch
For Sauce:
4-5 Green Onions
1 Mid-Size Onion
1 Tbsp. Chopped Ginger
1 Tbsp. Chopped Garlic
2 tsp. Chilli Garlic paste
2-3 Tbsp. Soya Sauce
1/3 tsp. salt
1 tsp. Black Pepper
RECIPE: (for Chilli Chicken)
- Mix the chicken pieces with cold water, sugar, salt(mix the sugar and salt properly in the water for much juicer chicken).
- While the chicken is getting softer, cut your Green Onions(green part for dressing and white part for the sauce), Capsicums, Onions properly.
- After 2hrs, add Ginger-garlic paste, black pepper, oil to your chicken, mix properly and keep the chicken aside.
- After 15 minutes, add All Purpose flour, Cornflour, baking powder and mix everything together which will make your battered chicken.
- Now, fry your chicken on medium-low flame. TIP: Fry the chicken twice, firstly, in a half-cooked state and the second time fry it properly till it turns golden-red. Wait 15 minutes after the first fry.
- Let's prepare the thickener now, in water mix the cornflour properly.
- Now, for preparing the sauce, put the flame on a high mode and pour some oil in it. Now put green onions, chopped garlic, ginger and saute for about 2-3 minutes. Now, put the chopped onions and capsicums and stir for about 2-3 minutes again and then add the thickener.
- Now, when the thickener starts to boil put in Soy Sauce, Chili garlic sauce, Salt (as per taste) and a decent amount of black pepper.
- After your sauce is ready, turn the flame off the let the sauce chill down a bit. After about 5-10 minutes add your fried chicken pieces in the sauce (flame still off) and mix everything properly so that the sauce gets coated on the chicken well and good.
- Now, for garnishing use some green onions.
