"Too Indian" as the name suggests, is a little too Indian with a mix of modernism, sounds great isn't it? With the kitchen and bar this restaurant has upped their game by bringing a retail shop in their restaurant. Too Indian situated in Rajouri Garden is a new entry to the world of restaurants but with a totally different concept. Serving our very own desi dishes with a hint of modernism is the idea behind the restaurant. With the amazingly aesthetic interiors and courteous staff this restaurant is serving some delectable food!
We were around 10-12 people just wanting to hog all the food. As you enter the restaurant, you see a big wall filled with little flower pots and in-between a small board saying Too Indian, as you settle in and look around you see the restaurant has a very chill vibe with some great music playing in the background, the waiter serves you with their welcome dish, i.e., Pomegranate sorbet- Chilled ice-candy, served in a miniature watering pot, with a taste of 'anaardana golis' that is a little sweet and a little peppery (khatta-meetha), I really liked this dish as it was really yummy and fresh.
In starters, we ordered:
Dahi Bhalla: The first thing when you see this dish would be "is this DAHI BHALLA!?" and I kid you not, This was the reaction of each one of us! You must be thinking that Dahi Bhalla is a very common dish and what experiments could be done in that? well, my friend, Too Indian is here to prove you wrong. Served with mishti doi(dahi), and topped with flavored yogurts (Blueberry, Mango and strawberry) and some namkeen to get that tangy flavour back, this Dahi Bhalla is the most different dish that I've ever had. Though, I really didn't get the flavour and according to me Dahi Bhalla is a dish that shouldn't get experimented but most of my friends loved it so I would say try it and say for yourself.
Indo-Persian Kebabs: Undoubtedly, one of the best dishes I had here. Served inside a big box and miniture lamp putting light on the dish, these were the most juicy kebabs; wrapped inside a soft rumali roti and served alongside mint chutney in a miniature pressure cooker, the cutest thing ever.
Desi Tacos (veg,/Non-veg.): Crispy Cone stuffed with paneer(veg.) and mutton gravy(non veg.) this was also one of the great dishes, really good in taste.
Chicken Tikka platter: Consists of 4 different style of chicken tikka this platter was quite flavorful and filling topped with onions and fried frams at the end. Soft and juicy chicken marinated in some unique spices.
Coming to the main-course, we ordered:
Home Style Chicken Curry: I really liked this dish, cooked in some savory Indian spices, this dish was spicy and scrumptious just like an Indian style chicken curry tastes.
Nalli Nihari: If you're a mutton fan then this dish is totally for you. A nawabi dish, this was one of the star dishes from this place. Though, they couldn't get the old charm back but still, it was really delicious. And as Salman Khan said; "Thodi biryani bhukhari; thodi fir nalli nihari, le ao aaj dharam bhrashth ho jaye" so, we ain't no stopping. ;)
Chicken Tikka Kofta: More like butter chicken but with kofta, this dish was really creamy and buttery. I think, I would still prefer Butter chicken over this.
Daal Makhani: The classic daal makhani, very creamy and tasteful. Best option for vegetarians.
Palak Paneer Ravioli: Very unique, I have never had such Palak Paneer. 10 points for innovation. Though, the taste was pretty average.

In drinks, we ordered:
Minty Santra: An Orange based drink, very refreshing and yummy.
Anaarkali: Definitely, one of the best mocktails at Too Indian, a mixture of apples and some of the most refreshing ingredients. With little chunks of heart-shaped apples, this drink was a total win-win.
Mango Raseeli: Mango shake with a twist! with some mango pieces and cumin seeds this drink is best to fight the Delhi heat!
Nutella Shake: Who doesn't like chocolate shakes? and when it is Nutella it is a +1 for me! Comes in a box of nutella, this shake was super chocolaty and delightful.
Last but not the least, coming to the desserts:
Daulat Ki Chaat: Daulat Ki Chaat as we all know is the legendary dessert from Kinari Bazaar which is made from milk and cream. Too Indian gives an innovative touch to it, the foamy dessert is sweet and topped with some crunchy nuts.
Rum Ball: Mixed with some different types of dark chocolate, this dessert is for all the dark chocolate lovers here. Shaped in a ball like structure and topped with white chocolate it was a combination of sweet and bitter.
Over all, I had a really fun experience at Too Indian, with the perfect combination of Hindi and English songs, positive vibes and great seating, I loved this cafe and look forward to more such experiences!
So, are you ready to have some mouthwatering flavors of modernized Indian food? What's stopping you, get going!!
